This is the fourth edition of WhistlePig Double Malt, an 18 year old straight rye whiskey bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle. It is made from rye, barley and malted rye, and was aged for 18 years in oak barrels.
The nose is of dried apricot, toasted nuts and a hint of clove. On the palate come caramel, vanilla and gentle oak, set against the spice of the rye, with a velvety mouthfeel. The finish is long.
