White Oak Akashi 10 Year Old Sherry Cask Single Malt Japanese Whisky (50cl, 60%)

A 10 year old Japanese single malt from the White Oak Distillery in Akashi, on the Seto Inland Sea in Hyogo Prefecture. It is bottled at 60% ABV in a 500ml bottle from a single cask, number 105206. The whisky was matured in a sherry butt, a 500-litre cask of the kind used for the sherry wines of Andalusia. The cask gives it a strong colour and a rich aroma. The nose shows dried fruit, chocolate and nuts. On the palate come spices, tannins and candied fruit.
