White Peak Wire Works Amarone Wine Cask Single Malt Whisky (70cl)

Wire Works Amarone Wine Cask is a single malt from White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire, made from lightly peated spirit. It was matured first in ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in first-fill Amarone wine barriques, as part of the distillery's wine series. It is natural in colour and non-chill filtered, from a run of 1,091 bottles. The whisky is described as rich, sweet and fruity, with a spicy, smoky backbone. The nose brings strawberry laces, furniture polish and orange oil, while the palate runs to blackcurrant cordial, sultanas and liquorice. The finish carries dark chocolate, chilli flakes and roasted coffee.
