Wire Works is the first single malt from White Peak, a new distillery in Belper, Derbyshire. It is a lightly peated whisky, matured in STR and bourbon casks and bottled at 50.3% ABV in a run of 5016 bottles. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The nose brings vanilla, chocolate, orchard fruit and orange peel, with candied ginger and roasted coffee beans. On the palate there is dark chocolate, a little pepper and chilli, roasted malt, raisins and toffee apple, with a wisp of smoke. The finish is long, with café mocha, chilli chocolate, liquorice allsorts and a final hint of peat.
