White Peak Wire Works Pineau des Charentes Single Malt Whisky (70cl)

This is an English single malt from White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire, released under its Wire Works name. The spirit is lightly peated and was first matured in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in a 500 litre cask that previously held Pineau des Charentes. It is a 598-bottle release, with natural colour and no chill-filtration. The distillery was established in 2016 by Max and Claire Vaughan, in a former wire works beside the River Derwent. It is described as rich and elegant, with peaches and cream, dried fruits and nuts, and layers of stone fruit.
