Wire Works Port Wine LBV Finish is a single malt from White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire, made from lightly peated spirit. It was matured first in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in Late Bottled Vintage Port barriques. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered, and was released in 1293 bottles. It won Silver at the World Whisky Masters 2025.
Berries and stone fruits, sweet almond and treacle tart sum up the character. The nose brings cinnamon, peaches, apricot and orange marmalade, the palate jelly babies, candied almonds and raspberry and blackcurrant jam, and the finish candied orange peel, eucalyptus and a subtle hint of peat.
