Wire Works Virgin Oak Finish is an English single malt from White Peak Distillery, bottled at 50.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is a vatting of lightly peated malt first matured in first fill ex-bourbon barrels.
The whisky was then finished for several months at a lower strength in virgin American oak barrels, with a range of toast and char levels.
The nose brings leather, caramelised brown sugar, bonfire toffee and orchard fruit. The palate has milk chocolate, peppercorn, prune and citrus zest. The finish is smoky and sweet, with baked apple, toasted wood and clove.
