Whitlaw 2013/2023 Horseman No.3 Signatory Vintage Cask Strength (70cl, 59.6%)

This is a 10 year old Orkney single malt from Signatory Vintage, the third in its Horseman series. It was distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2023 at a cask strength of 59.6% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. Only 1,285 bottles were filled. The whisky matured in a first fill sherry butt and Bordeaux hogsheads. Dark fruit, honey and raisins meet cocoa, spice, oak and a light island smokiness. The nose shows heather honey, dark berries, raisins, nuts and spice. The palate has dark fruit, cocoa, oak and light smoke. The finish is long, spicy and faintly smoky, with dry oak.
