An American rye whiskey distilled and aged in Red Hook, Brooklyn, bottled at 45.5% and non-chill filtered. It rests in once-used 10-year bourbon barrels alongside fresh-cut applewood staves, which add orchard-fruit sweetness to a grain-forward rye base.
It is reduced with limestone mineral water from the Rosendale Mines in upstate New York.
The nose offers clover honey, orange peel, cardamom and apple cider, with rum raisin and a little tobacco leaf. The palate starts with brown sugar, vanilla and maple before white pepper, a touch of smoke, almond and apricot. The finish is medium to long, with dried peach, almond biscuit and a peppery close.
