Wilderness Trail – Private Barrel Whiskey (55.7%)

This is a single barrel selection of Wilderness Trail whiskey, drawn from one cask and bottled unfiltered at 55.7% ABV (111.4 proof). It is made using Wilderness Trail's sweet mash process, and the bottling lets the whiskey's contact with deeply toasted oak come through at full strength. The nose is of dark brown sugar, roasted nuts, heavily toasted oak and rich vanilla. The palate is thick and oily, with dark chocolate, caramel and baked apple met by a warming wave of baking spice. The finish is very long, with lingering dry oak and sweet spice.
