Wire Works Caduro X Single Malt English Whisky (70cl, 46.8%)

Wire Works Caduro X is a single malt from White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire, made to mark ten years of production. It builds on the distillery's Caduro, a lightly peated vatting of first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and STR ex-red wine casks, with spirit from alternate distillation cuts added to the standard distillate. It was brought down to 46.8% using low-strength spirit matured in oak casks. It is of natural colour and non-chill filtered, and 1,000 bottles were produced. The nose offers banoffee pie, egg custard tarts and baked apple, with orange zest and a little peat. The palate brings cinnamon rolls, pineapple, milk chocolate and marmalade. The finish is cinder toffee, candied ginger, honey and a breath of wood smoke.
