Wire Works Port Cask is a lightly peated single malt from White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire, bottled at 50.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is aged in fresh Tawny Port barriques and first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, giving a rich, oily texture and a bold fruit character. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The nose has cinder toffee, demerara sugar and strawberry laces. The palate offers vanilla fudge, milk chocolate, marzipan and cherry pie filling, and the finish brings coffee grounds, honey, bonfire toffee and Turkish delight.
