This is a 10 year old single malt from Wolfburn, the most northerly mainland distillery in Scotland, bottled at a cask strength of 57.8% abv as the limited edition Vibrant Stills.
It was matured in two Oloroso sherry butts, and only 1,302 bottles were filled. The sherry influence is marked, yet the malt stays fruity and fresh.
The nose is rich, with dark fruit, raisins and cherries, a refined sherry note, vanilla, light malt sweetness and a hint of smoke. The palate is full and balanced, with caramel, dried fruit, nuts and spice. The finish is long and warming.
