Wolfburn 2017/2025 is an 8 year old single malt and the distillery's first Cognac finish edition, with 3,900 bottles. It was distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2025 at 46%, without chill-filtering or added colour.
The whisky first matured in first-fill Bourbon casks. It then spent its last six months in first-fill Cognac casks made from French Limousin oak.
The nose combines dried fruit with sweet brandy notes, then vanilla, a hint of coffee and dark chocolate. On the palate are dried apricots and almonds with vanilla and gentle warming spice, and later barley sugar and soft dark chocolate. The sweet finish is long, with vanilla and autumn fruits fading to caramel and sea salt.
