Wolfburn – Batch 458 Lightly Peated 7 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Batch 458 is a lightly peated, seven-year-old single malt from Wolfburn, the seventh release in the distillery's small batch series. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, in a run of 5,100 bottles, with natural colour and without chill filtering. The whisky was put together from equal parts first fill PX sherry butts and first fill bourbon barrels. The whisky was distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2022. The nose offers syrup and coffee, light sherry notes and spiced biscuit. The palate brings hazelnut, almond and clove under light smoke, rich and full-bodied. The finish is long, with sweet syrup and spice, and a trace of smoke lingers.
