Wolfburn – Langskip (70cl, 58%)

Langskip is a Wolfburn single malt named after the Viking longships that once ruled the seas off Scotland's north coast. It was the first Wolfburn bottled at batch strength, 58% vol, and it is neither filtered nor coloured. The whisky was distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2018 after five years in first-fill bourbon barrels, in a run of 16,000 bottles. Bourbon cask character is strong, alongside the fruitiness Wolfburn is known for. On the nose there is vanilla, a little smoke, almonds and nuts. The palate shows apples, ripe sweet fruit and vanilla pudding, and the finish is fresh, long and spicy.
