Wolfburn – Morven Lightly Peated (70cl, 46%)

Morven is the third permanent expression in the Wolfburn core range, named after the highest mountain in the northern Highlands. Wolfburn is the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland, in Thurso, and first ran spirit in January 2013. It is made only from lightly peated malt, specified at 10 ppm, and matured entirely in 200-litre bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The nose offers peat smoke, fruit and sea air. On the palate come floral notes, some malt, vanilla, spice and smoked ham, and the finish is long, with lingering smoke.
