A Kentucky straight malt whiskey from Woodford Reserve, bottled at 45.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from 51% malted grain and aged in new charred oak barrels, which gives it a character close to bourbon.
The colour is a warm umber. The nose is soft and nutty, with light caramel, milk chocolate, apple, dried and tropical fruit, brown spice, mint and brown sugar over toasted oak. On the palate, dark chocolate and caramel-coated nuts meet cocoa powder and brown spice, with a little toasted coconut. The finish is nutty, with subtly sweet chocolate malt.
