Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Super Seasoned Oak (70cl, 50.2%)

This is a limited edition Kentucky straight bourbon from Woodford Reserve, Series No. 22 of the Master's Collection, bottled at 50.2% in a 70cl bottle. The Master's Collection has been an annual series since 2005. It looks at how long oak staves are seasoned before the barrel is made. Staves are normally air-dried outdoors for six to nine months, but here they were seasoned for years longer. The nose has vanilla, toasted oak, dried stone fruit and baking spices. On the palate come caramel, dark chocolate, toffee and rye spice. The finish is long and warming, with vanilla bean, toasted grain and dark dried fruit.
