Woodford Reserve – Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey Distillers Select (70cl, 45.2%)

This is a Kentucky straight wheat whiskey from Woodford Reserve, bottled at 45.2% in a 70cl bottle. Its mash bill is 52% wheat, 20% malted barley, 20% corn and 8% rye, and it matures in new American oak casks. Chris Morris developed it, drawing on historical recipes while taking the style of the Woodford Reserve bourbon as a guide. It joined the permanent range in 2019. The nose offers cinnamon and cedar with stewed apples, pears and bananas, plus delicate floral notes. On the palate, spiced apple sauce and toasted coconut meet earthy mint and cocoa nibs. The finish is dry, with light cocoa and lingering apple peel.
