World Whiskey Society Oloroso 12 Year is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 43%. The spirit was distilled at Heaven Hill from a mashbill of 74% corn, 18% rye and 8% malted barley.
After twelve years in new charred American oak, it was moved into seasoned Oloroso sherry casks for a finishing period, and it is bottled non-chill filtered.
The nose offers red berries, cherry tart, brownie batter and leather, with oak and vanilla bean underneath. Red berries and dried cherries lead the palate before charred oak and peppercorn arrive. The finish is short and dry, with dried oak and leather.
