Writers' Tears Cask Strength 2023 (54.8%)

This is the 2023 release of Writers' Tears Cask Strength, an Irish whiskey bottled at 54.8% ABV. It is triple distilled and combines about 30% single malt with 70% single pot still, the reverse of the mix in The Irishman Harvest. It was matured in American oak casks that previously held bourbon. A total of 6,050 individually numbered bottles were filled. The nose and palate are sweet, nutty and spiced, with salted caramel, toasted oak, floral notes and roasted hazelnuts. The finish is deep and very long, with toasted oak and ginger spice.
