Writers Tears Double Oak is a light brown Irish whisky bottled at 46%. Part of it matured in American bourbon barrels and the rest in French oak casks from the Cognac region.
The nose combines vanilla with spicy cinnamon, followed by pear and plum that add sweetness. The palate is fruity too, leaning towards citrus, with a taste of pressed grapes. The finish is long, with chocolate undertones and a varied range of spices.
