Writers Tears Marsala Cask Finish is an Irish single malt bottled at 45% ABV in a 70cl bottle, with an amber colour. It was matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks, then finished for 12 months in marsala hogsheads from the Florio winery in Sicily. Only 480 bottles were produced.
The nose has syrupy marsala aromas, a touch of tropical fruit and sweet toffee apple. The palate starts with toffee apple and roasted nuts alongside cinnamon and sweet honey, then turns to fresh grape. The finish is short and refreshing, with light, sweet tropical fruit.
