Writers' Tears Marsala Cask Irish Whiskey (70cl, 45%)

Writers' Tears Marsala Cask is an Irish whiskey bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle, without added colour and without chill-filtration. It matured for several years in former bourbon casks, then spent twelve months finishing in five selected Marsala casks from the Sicilian house of Florio. The bourbon maturation provides vanilla, honey, caramel and light fruit, while the Marsala finish adds dark berries, dried fruit and a gently nutty side. On the nose there are dark berries, dried fruit and sweet grapes with vanilla, honey and floral notes. The palate is soft and round, with ripe fruit, dark syrup and spice. The finish is medium to long, fruity and floral, with drying oak spice.
