Writers' Tears Red Head is an Irish single malt matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV.
The name refers to the coppery colour the sherry casks give the whisky. The sherry influence is pronounced, bringing a warm, fruity character with a rich sweetness.
Tasting notes run to dark raisins and dried fruit, sweet sherry, chocolate and light spices, followed by a long, soft finish with warm oak.
