Yamazaki – 18 Year Old Mizunara Japanese Oak Cask (2024 Edition)

This is the 2024 edition of Yamazaki 18 Year Old Mizunara, a Japanese whisky matured in Mizunara oak casks. Yamazaki was established in 1923 in Shimamoto, Osaka Prefecture, and is Japan's first malt whisky distillery. Eighteen years in Japanese oak brings a distinct spiciness with notes of sandalwood and aloe, alongside fruit and wood. Tasting notes describe dark cherry, ripe peach and hints of cinnamon and nutmeg on the nose, subtle spice with undertones of Japanese incense on the palate, and a long finish of clove, sandalwood and a little dried coconut.
