Yamazaki 2014 Limited Edition is an annual release from Suntory's Yamazaki Distillery, Japan's oldest commercial malt whisky producer, in a 70cl bottle. It is made from single malt whiskies.
The malts were matured in a variety of casks, including American oak, European oak and Mizunara Japanese oak.
The nose offers dried apricot and fig, with Mizunara incense and a hint of vanilla. The palate balances sweet and savoury, with ripe peach and orange zest and a delicate spice. The finish is long, with echoes of oak and a touch of ginger.
