Yamazaki 2023 Limited Edition is a Japanese single malt whisky, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is made from whisky aged for at least 12 years in Mizunara oak, and has a rich amber colour.
Suntory revived the Yamazaki Limited Edition series in 2021 after several years in which it had been set aside during the whisky shortage. This is the 2023 release.
The nose offers ripe orchard fruits such as apple and pear, with honey, vanilla and delicate floral notes. On the palate there is a velvety texture with tropical fruit, citrus and caramelised sugar alongside gentle spice. The finish is long and warm, with soft tannins and a touch of smokiness.
