Yamazaki – Distiller's Reserve

Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve is a Japanese single malt from the Yamazaki distillery, founded in 1923 on the outskirts of Kyoto. It is a blend of young single malts matured in American oak, ex-sherry casks and Japanese Mizunara oak. The American oak adds sweetness and vanilla, the sherry casks bring richness and depth, and the Mizunara contributes incense and a delicate spice. The nose offers strawberry, dried cherry, floral notes and a touch of coconut. On the palate there is honeyed fruit, cinnamon and clove, leading to a long, gently spiced finish with lingering fruit and a trace of smoke.
