Yamazaki – Golden Promise (2024 Edition)

This is the 2024 edition of Yamazaki Golden Promise, from the Japanese distillery founded in 1923 in Shimamoto, Osaka Prefecture. It is made entirely from Golden Promise barley, a Scottish variety first grown in the 1960s, and matured in American oak casks. The character is malty and fruity, with a refined sweetness that keeps the focus on the grain. The nose is sweet malt, vanilla and honey, delicate and fragrant. The palate is rich and full, with orange marmalade and custard. The finish is sweet and fruity with citrus, long and lasting.
