A Japanese single malt from Yamazaki, part of the 2024 Tsukuriwake series and bottled at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
Tsukuriwake means 'variety in production', and here the variation lies in the barley: Golden Promise, a variety first grown in Scotland in the 1960s. The whisky was distilled in 2009 and aged in American oak casks.
The nose brings orange marmalade, custard creams and toasted malt, with the distillery's familiar pineapple and citrus notes. Sweet malt, vanilla and honey are also described.
