Yamazakura Asaka Single Malt Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Cask Reserve Japanese Whisky (70cl, 54%)

This is a single malt from the Asaka distillery in Tohoku, Japan, made from unpeated malt. It was distilled in 2019 and bottled in October 2024 at 54%, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky spent its first three years in bourbon barrels, then a further year in Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks from Napa Valley in California. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Only 1,316 bottles were filled. It shows Asaka's signature bright citrus and subtle sweetness, with the red wine casks adding their influence.
