A Japanese single malt made at the Asaka distillery in Tohoku from non-peated malt. It was aged in first-fill bourbon barrels, then finished for at least one year in first-fill Sakura (cherry blossom wood) barrels. It is bottled at 55% ABV in a 70cl bottle, in a limited edition of 1,000 bottles.
The nose offers salted cherry, sponge cake, floral notes, lemon-like citrus and a distinctive earthiness. The palate has soft sponge cake and cherry cream, with good sweetness and enough acidity to balance it. The sweetness lingers on a clean, fresh finish.
