Yamazakura Cherry Ex is a blended Japanese whisky in a 50cl bottle, from Sasanokawa Shuzo, a sake brewer in Fukushima in the Tohoku region. The company received its whisky licence in 1946 and later founded the Asaka Distillery. The Cherry and Cherry Ex name is one of the earliest blended whisky releases from Sasanokawa Shuzo. It is light straw gold in colour, with a very subtle nose and a gentle sweetness. The mouthfeel is light and easy, leading to a simple finish.
