Yellow Rose Outlaw is a bourbon from Yellow Rose Distilling in Houston, Texas, bottled at 46%.
It is made from 100% Texas yellow corn, distilled in a pot still and matured in small American oak barrels. The Texas climate, with daily temperature swings of 15 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit, speeds up the interaction with the wood.
The nose is sweet, with candy corn, toffee and caramel, and some floral and honeyed touches. Caramel, vanilla, butterscotch and dark honey lead the palate, followed by toasted oak and smoke. The finish is warm and medium to long, with caramel, vanilla and lingering oak.
