This is a Japanese single malt from the Yoichi distillery in Hokkaido, finished in sherry wood and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a distillery exclusive release, and 3132 bottles were produced.
The nose is savoury and sweet, with smoky bacon, raisins, dark chocolate and charred spices. Berry, praline, cocoa bitters and raspberry follow on the palate. The finish turns coastal, with delicate medicinal smoke, green herbs and linctus, and a faintly sweet edge.
