1792 Aged Twelve Years is a high-rye Kentucky straight bourbon, made at the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown and matured for twelve years, in a 75cl bottle. The brand name refers to the year Kentucky achieved statehood. The high-rye mash bill gives the bourbon a bolder, spicier backbone than wheated or standard-rye styles. The nose brings caramel, vanilla and toasted oak with rye spice. The palate is bold and layered, with caramel, oak, dried fruit and pepper, and the finish is long and smooth, with warm oak and lingering spice.
