This is a single cask Islay single malt from an undisclosed distillery, released in summer 2023 by Acla da Fans in its Classic series. It was distilled in 2007 and matured for 15 years in a sherry hogshead.
It was bottled at a cask strength of 52.3% without added colour, and only 90 bottles were filled.
The nose combines iodine, lemon and smoke with raisins, dried fruit, sugared almonds and smoked bacon. On the palate, barley sugar meets lightly bitter peat, with a touch of sea water, vanilla and sweet fruit. The finish is long and sweet, with lingering smoke.
