This is a 14 year old Highland single malt from Aberfeldy, distilled in 2011 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in its Spirit of Scotland range. It matured entirely in a first fill sherry butt, and 565 bottles were filled at a cask strength of 61.1% ABV in 70cl bottles. It has no added colouring.
The nose offers fruit cake, creamy fudge and dark dried fruit, with cinnamon, beeswax and gentle spice. The palate is powerful, with stewed plums, orange marmalade and black pepper. The finish is long, with red berries, sultanas and spicy oak.
