Aberfeldy – 18 Year Old Sangiovese Red Wine Finish

Aberfeldy 18 Year Old Sangiovese Red Wine Finish is a single malt first matured in a combination of refill and hogshead casks. It then spent a final period in first-fill Sangiovese wine casks from the Valdarno di Sopra region of Tuscany, Italy. The finish is meant to build on the distillery's own character rather than change it, adding depth and fruitiness. The whisky is non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The tasting notes describe ripe cherries and red plums layered with candied orange peel and honeyed figs, then violets. Subtle clove spice follows, with a touch of vanilla and toasted oak.
