Adelphi Selection Penderyn 8 Year Old 2015 Cask #1177 (56.9%)

This is an 8 year old Welsh single malt from Penderyn, selected and bottled by the independent bottler Adelphi as part of the Adelphi Selection. It comes from a single cask, a first-fill bourbon barrel, which yielded 247 bottles. The whisky was distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2024 at a natural cask strength of 56.9% ABV, without chill filtration or added colouring. The nose has fresh-cut basil, biscuit, birch and lemon marmalade. On the palate there is bright citrus and apple with vanilla, biscuit and fresh herbal touches. The finish is lingering, with citrus, vanilla and gentle bourbon-oak character.
