Alberta Springs is a Canadian rye whisky made by Alberta Distillers Limited from a blend of grains and glacier-fed Rocky Mountain water. This one is in a 1.14 litre bottle.
The whisky is aged for 10 years, then re-barrelled after blending so that the flavours can marry. It is described as smooth and approachable, with sweet oak set against a peppery rye spice.
The nose is toasty grain, vanilla, caramel and dusty rye spice, with roasted nuts, mild oak and crisp green apple. The palate brings vanilla, butterscotch and toffee, with cinnamon and a little orchard fruit. The finish is medium-long and warming, with baking spices and sweet oak.
