Amahagan Mizunara Wood Finish Japanese Blended Malt Whisky (70cl, 47%)

Amahagan Mizunara Wood Finish is a Japanese blended malt whisky bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle. The Amahagan series is built around blending, and this edition follows Edition No.1, with the whisky matured in mizunara oak. The nose has the sweet malt character of Nagahama malt, with warm oranges and red apples. Over time the incense note from the mizunara fades and a sweet caramel woodiness comes through. On the palate there is baked orange and fragrant brown sugar. A rich aftertaste follows, like bitter chocolate melting slowly.
