This is a special release from Amahagan marking Chinese New Year and the year of the Tiger. It is built on World Malt Edition No.3, a Japanese whisky matured in Mizunara casks, and is bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is rich and sweet with malt that mellows over time, mixed with orange and apple, while woody Mizunara notes grow as it opens. The palate brings baked orange sweets, roasted brown sugar and chocolate fruit tart, with a soft, lingering sweetness of caramel and sandalwood.
The finish is long, likened to bitter chocolate melting slowly in the mouth.
