Amahagan World Malt Whisky Edition No.2 is a Japanese malt whisky finished in red wine wood, in a 70cl bottle at 47% ABV. It won a Gold Medal at the World Whisky Award in 2020. The colour is a glossy, reddish brick. The nose combines malt sweetness from Nagahama newmake with ripe dried fruit, raisin and red berries. The palate is sweet and deep, with a silky, tannic bitterness. The finish is medium, with cinnamon and pepper spice and a refreshing note of orange peel.
