A ten-year-old Amrut single malt from India, the Chairman's Reserve in the fourth release of the Greedy Angels series. It is made from peated Scottish barley and finished in ex-rum casks.
This is Batch 01, bottled in October 2019 at 57.1% in 450 numbered bottles of 70cl. It is non-chill-filtered and natural colour.
The nose has background peat, wood and toasted wholemeal bread, with salted butter and redcurrant jelly. The palate is dense and oily, with mild earthy peat, ginger, chilli, very dark chocolate and cocoa, ash and smoky grapefruit. Wood and dark chocolate define the long finish.
