A single malt from Amrut in India, matured in ex-bourbon casks and lightly peated. This is cask 1405 from the 2014 Special Limited Edition, bottled at 60% in a 70cl bottle and not chill-filtered.
The nose is delicate smoke and peat with floral notes, apricot, orange, heather honey, chocolate and caramel, and later Russian leather, tiger balm and ash. On the palate, liquorice and salty peat come with malted barley, roasted apple and curry, ending on cocoa bean. The finish is long, with clove, smoked meat, red and black fruits, lavender and oak.
