Amrut – 2020/2026 6 Year Old First Fill Peated Port Pipe #8795, Best Dram (70cl, 58.2%)

This is a six-year-old peated Indian single malt from Amrut, bottled by Best Dram from a single first-fill port pipe, cask 8795. It was distilled in February 2020 and bottled in August 2026 at a cask strength of 58.2%, without chill-filtration or added colouring. The outturn was 303 bottles. The peated port pipe gives a smoky whisky with fruity and spicy impressions, with plums, raisins and dark chocolate alongside the smoke. The nose has clear smoke with ripe plums, sweet raisins and a little liquorice. The palate is intensely smoky, with dark chocolate, pepper and clove on a powerful body. The long finish keeps dry smoke and bitter cocoa, with woody notes.
