Amrut 6 Year Old 2020 1st Fill Peated Port Pipe – Cask #8795 – Best Dram (58.2%)

This is a 6 year old single malt from the Amrut distillery in Bangalore, India, bottled as a single cask for Best Dram at a cask strength of 58.2% ABV. The whisky was distilled in February 2020 from peated barley. It matured for its whole life in a first fill peated Port pipe, cask #8795, and was bottled in August 2026. Its mahogany colour comes from the cask alone, with no colouring added. The nose has smoke over ripe plums and sweet raisins, with dark chocolate and liquorice. The palate adds pepper and clove to smoke and chocolate sweetness, and the finish is dry smoke, bitter cocoa and warm wood.
